Pernyataan if memberi tahu kita bahwa jika suatu kondisi benar, itu akan mengeksekusi blok pernyataan dan jika kondisinya salah, blok pernyataan tersebut tidak akan dilakukan. Tetapi bagaimana jika kita ingin melakukan sesuatu yang lain jika kondisinya salah. Di sinilah pernyataan lain.
