Seluruh jaringan dapat saja kita set menggunakan routing statik, akan tetapi ini akan sangat rentan kalau ada kerusakan atau kesalahan. Sehingga jika ada perubahan di jaringan atau sebuah kerusakan antara dua node yang di set secara statik, maka paket tidak akan bisa lewat. Hal ini berarti, jika terjadi kerusakan pada jaringan, paket harus menunggu dulu sampai jaringan dibetulkan untuk bisa lewat kembali.
